About Us
Inspired by a group of artists, the Augusta Art Guild formed in 1999. Judy Federer (1937 - 2007), a life-long resident of Augusta, encouraged the creation of the Guild. Along with Judy, Mea Dewers (1932 - 2010) brought additional energy and direction to the Guild’s beginnings. As the Guild grew, a permanent location in the small river town of Augusta was established. The Guild is a non-profit 501(c)4 organization.
As a community-based organization, our primary goal is to bring a deeper appreciation of the arts to our area. By creating art, we give back to the community through exhibits, events, concerts, and scholarships. We believe that creativity is a part of everyone’s life and the way we use this gift brings us together.
The Guild's home is located at 116 Main Street in historic Augusta, Kentucky. On the first Tuesday of the month, we meet to discuss upcoming events, business details, and goals for our guild. Every Tuesday morning, the Guild has an open workshop.
