AAG’s mission is to bring the local community together through creativity and to create a deeper appreciation of the arts through exhibits, events, workshops, and scholarships. Some of our regular activities are listed below.
Art in Schools (AIS)
Since 2012, the Augusta Art Guild has endeavored to enrich the creative experience for local schoolchildren by sponsoring visual arts programs.

Providing an arts & crafts teacher + art supplies for grades K - 4 at the Augusta School

Hiring an Art Teacher for grades 5 - 8 to teach Foundations in Art including basics of drawing techniques, watercolor, and pastels.

Funding a trip to Cincinnati Art Museum for grades 5-8 as part of Art Education

Sponsoring the Cincinnati Museum Center’s STEM Program on Wheels to Augusta School

Sponsoring the annual Cultural Outreach Program by bringing musical groups to perform at the local school. Performances are open and free to the public

Funding three $500 annual scholarships to graduating seniors in visual arts & music
Providing scholarships to Bracken Co students for summer camps, including Maysville Community Theater Camp and ORVAG's Art Camp
Cultural Arts Outreach
Over the years, the Cultural Arts Outreach has brought professional music, dance, and theater programs to Bracken County schools and the entire community.
Performances included programs by the Cincinnati Ballet, the Morehead State University Symphony Orchestra, the Roundabout Opera for Kids, and many more.
Scholarships & Awards
Every spring, the Augusta Art Guild awards scholarships to deserving Bracken County students.

The Judy Federer Art Scholarship is given to a graduating Bracken County senior who has excelled in the visual arts and who will be attending college or vocational school.
​
For qualifying candidates in grades 7 - 12 and who reside in Bracken County, the Bobby Moloney Music Scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates an above average talent in music.

Beautify Augusta
Another way the Augusta Art Guild members have been supporting the local business community is by volunteering to beautify Main Street!
​
Every spring a number of our members will get together to plant flowers in the ground at the Caboose by the River as well as place attractive containers overflowing with beautiful flowers on Main Street's side walks.
​
AAG's volunteers also decorate Main Street on special Holidays like Christmas.
White Christmas Parade
One of The Augusta Art Guild favorite community events is the White Christmas Parade held every December.
​
Local businesses and organizations compete for bragging rights by creating floats that might be awarded the coveted "1st Place" award.
Amazingly, some of our best float entries have been created with no pre-planning and only 24 hours before the parade!
