PLEASE JOIN US!! The Augusta Art Guild would like to invite you to a private showing of Pax Rwanda: Embroideries of the Women of Savane Kabuye, a group of Rwandan women living in the aftermath of the 1994 Genocide. The women artisans came from both sides of the conflict to work together as a collective to hand-embroider museum-quality textile art in the hopes of providing a better future for their children. The Pax Rwanda exhibit includes over thirty museum-quality textile art wall hangings that beautifully render images of Rwandan culture. Each piece took 2-4 months to stitch by a skilled artisan. Juliana Meehan, this exhibit’s curator, will be doing a visual presentation on the history of the Pax Rwanda workshop project, followed by a time for discussion and open Q&A. Yummy appetizers will be served and a Cash Bar will be available during the Open House Cocktail Party!! There will also be a silent auction of "Children's Dance”, one of the exhibits most prized art pieces. Tickets are Limited! BOOK NOW!
