Service Description

In this onsite workshop, Augusta Art Guild member and hand embroidery artist Jennifer Smith will show you how to create incredible pieces of hand embroidery art with just a few basic stitches! Many find that hand stitching reduces anxiety and depression, calms a busy mind, and allows for more creative thoughts. It truly is a wonderful endeavor. Participants will receive a workshop booklet, hoop, fabric, have access to an assortment of DMC embroidery floss, and receive one-on-one assistance. In this workshop you will learn: brief history of embroidery, how to transfer designs to the fabric, ways to present the finished work, how to turn stitched work into patches and necklace pendants, and ways to find inspiration for creating abstract designs. This hands-on workshop is ideal for experienced embroiderers and for those who have always wanted to stitch, but weren’t sure how or where to begin. This workshop has LIMITED seating.
