With Christmas around the corner, it’s the perfect time to slow down for a couple of hours making ornaments to hang on your tree or to give away as gifts! In this hands-on, beginner friendly workshop, Carmen Estrada, AAG member and fiber artist will show you how to make fabric ornaments using basic hand sewing and embroidery stitches. You will learn to cut patterns, hand embroider with floss and beads, and hand sew together beautiful star ornaments!! This is a Make and Take Class and depending on your experience, you will have 1 - 3 ornaments to take home! Class fee includes all materials and supplies. Workshop is open to all ages and sewing skill levels! There will be plenty of one-on-one assistance available!! So let’s set aside some time to create in-community and immerse yourself in this fun holiday experience with some Christmas songs, hot chocolate, and cookies in beautifully restored historic Echo Hall in Augusta, KY. Instructor Bio: Carmen Estrada of “Eco Couture” is a member of the Augusta Art Gallery and helps manage gallery exhibits and the AAG’s website. She is a mixed media artist and lover of all things textiles and stitching. Carmen has a degree in Fashion Design from FIDM in San Francisco and has taught sewing classes to children and adults at Kukas Fashion & Design School in Englewood, NJ.
